Hey gang, help me welcome my friend Sharran to DG. we've reconnected after quite a few years and are having a great time. All of ya'll think you've known me for a long time...we'll she's got you beat...we've known each other over 30 years~!

Welcome! Any friend of Mel's is a friend of mine - you see, we were separated at birth (and by 10 years give or take) and I grew up a Yankee, but that doesn't seem to matter! Maybe I'll get to meet you when I'm down next time.

Actually, Sharran's birthday isn't till today...I just wanted a nice little birthday surprise waiting when she checked in.

I'll see her this afternoon when we start changing the show in the Gallery uptown. We're putting up the children's art today.

You folks are amazing! Thanks for all the birthday wishes! What Mel didn't tell you is that she was one of my very best art students several years ago, and now she is one of my very best friends. Funny how that works.
I am looking forward to new friends, and I can already tell that Dave's Garden is going to be a favorite, thanks to all of you.

You all are amazing! I was all set to have one of those dreary birthdays and you have just brightened my day! To answer some of your questions....I have a great daylily garden, my favorite of all my flowers; lots of old plants inherited from great grandmothers and other older relatives and friends, and have just planted 3 new Golden Raintrees, looking forward to the day they are more than a foot tall. And yes, Mel has me interested in vintage plants, just not hooked yet.
Welcome to western KY, Lisa, you will love it. I am anxious to know about all of your gardens and your interests. I am sure you will teach me a lot, just as Mel has. Now I am on my way to meet her and to hang an art show. Hope your day is as good as mine has already been!
