If you have any, let me know and maybe we can trade. Thanks.

Coreopsis atrosanguinea is another name for this annual.

I have some. I would love to trade for some of your Antelope Horns- Asclepias asperula. Dmail me if you want to trade.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Linda & Luvs,

Does it flop? I was just looking at some from Mr.Fothergill's. It looks like it might have a lax plant habit ala Red Mexican Hat from Bluestone.

Seedsavers has a really good deal on Cosmidium right now: http://www.seedsavers.org/prodinfo.asp?number=1068
And BTW, the scientific name is Cosmidium burridgeanum. It resenbles coreopsis slightly, so it would be easy to confuse.

I was thinking of getting some for next summer also. I'm not happy with the height on my regular coreopsis (i.e. not the threadleaf variety, which I use everywhere). Cosmidium has more height, and the flowers are an interesting shape.

Oh, thanks everyone! This plant originally came from Texas, the only place it grows as a native in the wild. I just love any plant with that chocolate color!

Centennial, CO(Zone 5b)

coreopsis (the original, not so much the latest cultivars) is also a native plant, but I don't know if it is native to Texas specifically. I think Cosmidium would mix in really well with other long stemmed flowers of a similar shape or size, and would have a nice effect in a gentle breeze. (can you hear me talking myself into getting some?) I went to Seedsavers looking for Bunnytails seed, but there are obviously some others I am considering.
