Hi RedK, and welcome! You could try Canning Perennials. They're in Paris, but not too far - and they have online ordering. Here's a link to the page with Iris links on it:

Their web site resumes taking orders - and will have the new spring 2007 catalogue online - on February 1.

Hi RedK ! It's been a while since I've ordered anything from Hortico, but they've recently got their Perennial catalogue online and they are located in Waterdown, ON, which I think isn't too far from you. They have a fair selection of iris germanica. No pics though and I can't vouch for prices either. Maybe somone else has some recent experience with them. Are you looking for a nearby supplier that you can visit or a Canadian online supplier?

Lynn, That's an amazing photo... how the background is a distant view. You should definitely enter that in the photo contest!

I seem to recall seeing a good selection of tall bearded iris at The Country Squires Garden earlier this year. The Squires are on Derry Road, south of Campbellville. Take 401 west to the Campbellville/Guelph Line exit, go south through Campbellville to the lights at Derry Road, turn right onto Derry Road, and the nursery is not far, on the right. They are open from about the 2nd week of April. They don't ship, but have a huge selection of hardy perennials. I visit three or four times a year always find a plant I have never seen before. And since the Squires grow their own plants, they can answer all your questions. Not like the "Garden Centres" that buy stuff in and have know-nothing sales people...but that's a whole different rant. Anyway, do visit the Squires.

Hey RedK,

Welcome to our happy - usually - gang. I've been off-line for abit. However, my suggestion is to run over to the Cdn iris society website.

Think it is
http://www.cdn-iris.ca

If not - google it.

Haven't been there lately but you should find Chuck Chapman, Macmillens, Alan McMurtrie -great things there and more. All in Ont.

When ordering from Chuck Chapman, ORDER NOW or very soon. No point waiting for his 2007 catalogue. Far too many goodies are sold out by then.

Have fun.
