I was out getting my bone density measured and decided to stop at Johnson's in Kensington. For $4 I couldn't pass it up. I talked to the clerk and was told that all violets in the store were from Optimara. A quick check on the ID page gave me Martinique. The color is the most beautiful blue and just a hint of white edging.

Just Lovely ! All the Optimaras I found around our stores are either purples or pinks.They are pretty too but that Blue is wonderful! : )

Nanna, does Johnson's carry lots of violets? How about gessies?
They have a little of everything. Very few violets. There were 4. One strep. Last time I went they had 1 epescia.
The big thing yesterday was Christmas cactus. They always have orchids. The Johnson's in Kensington is small. Other locations might have more.
Thanks, always looking for new sources and hoping for something like Behnke's used to be. I like seeing plants in person so much better than mail order if at all possible. Enjoy your new plant, it's a pretty one.
