DH and I are heading to a cabin in the north Georgia mountains for Thanksgiving. I'm trying to prepare a stress-free menu that will travel well. Our local butcher is taking orders for smoked turkey and I went ahead and ordered one. These are range-free, organic turkeys if that makes a difference.
I'm wondering if I made the right decision as I have never had a smoked turkey before. The guy doing the smoking can also inject a marinade if I choose. Has anyone had a smoked turkey and how is the tenderness, juiciness, etc.
