Here's a link to the AVSA library where if you look under Photoshow(s).....click to view the Florida Council 2006 Show in West Palm Beach. Very well done and you might want a pen and paper handy to write down some names of violets to add to your wish list ;)

Great Photoshow!
WOW Thanks Snowrose. What a Treat!! I think I am going to need more paper!! : )
Nancy
Didn't the folks in West Palm do a wonderful job of putting together a slide show of their 2006 violet show? Set to music on top of it. I know exactly what you mean, Nancy. Just what we need.... more names added to our wish list. Will it ever end? My guess is....no.
Snow
Fabulous!
Unbelievable! Thanks for posting the link! Some of those were huge beyond my imagination! And as I have said so many times, the venders do not do many of the plants justice w/ their photos- I have seen some of those AVs on vender sites time and again and have not been even remotely interested, but these photos made me kick myself for not getting a hold of those same plants before now!
Unfortunately my "list" has grown by leaps and bounds.
I so completely agree with you, April ! Many vendors pics leave much to be desired as well as FCII in far too many cases. Don't kick yourself too hard. Now we know, perhaps unfortunately ;-)
what a great job they did, beautiful picture, especially galatic shower & lyon's crown jewel.
bonnie
Wow!!! That was fabulous.
Deb
Snowrose: Thank you so much for posting the link to that site! What Beautiful plants! I am a novice, with a few unnamed AV's but thoroughly enjoyed watching that video with all those georgeous flowers. It makes me want to become a collector!
Lin
So nice to sit back and enjoy the show especially on a dreary rainy November day like it is here today. I'll have to go back and check out your favorites.....twist my arm LOL! I did like Buckeye Galactic Showers quite a bit along with several others.
Lin -
I think you've been hooked! It doesn't take a fortune teller to see more violets in your future with so many beauties to choose from.
Luckily loading problems saved my grandkids xmas money...LOL
Lead me not unto temptation for I can darn well find it myself*G*
P
That was the best. Thanks, Snow. Loved every second. What a great show!
You crack me up! Christmas money for the grandkids!!! Wonder where that went, huh???
Nanna...just wait till the Baltimore club show this spring!!
I am so excited. I would like to enter something this time; just for the sake of entering something.
YES, nanna, do it! There won't be one grower entering in the show that didn't have a first time. Sure, you might be nervous (just like everybody else) but will be so exciting. Fun to think about and plan on. That show and sale weekend should be a blast!
I'll pull out my Grow to Show book and see what I can come up with.
Beautiful show, and now a VERY long list :-)
WOW! And here I thought I was done with the 8 violets I have. Now I'll have to go to a show and who knows what will happen! :-)
MagicGarden...if you go to a show and sale, you already know what will happen....a little more magic for your indoor garden ;)
Snowrose
thanks far the link, that was like watching a piece of heaven,so beaitifull
i never relize some of them get so big
LOL ..."thought I was done with 8..." way too funny.
Thought I was done at 50...
And, thanks to the forum's cheif enabler, I'm not only aware of the violets in the photoshow, I'm aware where the AVSA show in 2007 will be-
Denver.
I'm doomed.
You will have to have your camera ready and take lots of photos of the 2007 convention show! Lucky guy! You are doomed....
My first show was big and exciting. It was like the group's 47th annual show/sale . With a discount I could buy bags of leaves for 50 cents each came with a picture from FC on them.
I got blooming mini's and semi's for $2.00 and large 4-6 inch full in bloom plants for $3.00 all named. I bought two of everything as I gave one of each to my Brother-in-law who came to get me in and out of the van Hubby's health would not allow this .
And yes the plants are large and rows and rows of perfect laywers of lush foliage and big bouquets of flowers !
You look so sweet Allison! When was this picture taken? Hard to pass up on buying with those super prices.
Oh gosh oh my I think it was 3-4 years ago.
The two ladies behine me I had met on line from Brats and met them at our Show ! The girl on right of me had pictures taken with her camera sent me it and posted it on Brats :))
It was so exciting , fun . The plants were out of this world. You can see pictures of their shows off of AVSA web sight and link in sticky too !
Sweet memories I will always treasure !
Here are pictures from the 2006 show !

Beautiful show! I don't think everyone realizes the purposeful timing involved (and a bit of luck ;) to have plants in very full fresh bloom just right at showtime.
Yes lot of talented work ! It's amazing going and seeing all these beautiful plants with hugh bouquets of flowers !
Mannn makes me want to go to a show ! The next one here is in Feb . 2007
Would be great to go if any way possible...Something to look forward to. You need some nice strong guys to help you. Might not be too bad ;))
Yes that sure would be fun ! Too bad Medicare's Homebound laws are so strict we can go to a funeral, small walk around yard, neighborhood, Adult daycare ran by Medicare and that's about it or Medicare won't pay for our homecare much needed. So I can only dream :))
That's a shame....
You don't look anywhere near old enough to be on Medicare :)
Thanks :)) Hehe I've been on Medicare 6 years but beacasue I am disabled .But I'm 49 and will be 50 in May !
Still a spring chicken ;))
;))
That was a great show!! Really beautiful!! I really loved that music, too! That's totally my style! I'm going to have to find that cd!!
Violet...you look FAAAABULOUS, DAAAALING! ; )
Jesse~ Your plants always look so wonderful. They always seem to have such symetry (hey, I'm just waking up still...you know what I mean :)) I've got a couple of mini's growing in glass containers. Some have lids and some don't. I've got an old ten gallon tank out back somewhere and maybe that will be my winter project, too. Do you keep your av's in pots and bury the pots in the planting??
Really nice plantings, Jesse!!
Oh for godsakes...Sorry Snowrose! I thought I was posting on Jesse's thread. Man, I gotta drink some more coffee before I start shooting off my mouth in the morning!
