Well,it was a nasty job but somebody had to do it!
I needed to make room for my big light bench in the living room...hopefully to be moved this weekend...so I had to re-arrange the furniture to make room for it which lead to taking down the curtains to wash, giving the rock fireplace a good dusting w/ a paint brush as well as tops of windows, door frames ceiling fan(hack-hack...cough)...which lead to re-arranging stuff on the walls ..ditto dusting and windexing which lead to taking everything out of the china hutch, washing and dusting and more re-arranging.Sweeping mopping...more dusting...so on and so forth. Got a roll and it turned into a bagel~~~~~$;>)+)
Everything's back in place but there's two different location I can put the bench...I'm hoping it'll fit right next to the door that leads into computer room but doesn't crowd the love seat.
Kinda like back in the day when I bought a new dress and had to have new shoes, new purse,underpinnings,make-up to co-ordinate,etc. Now I look like a bag lady but my plants sure are purdy...LOL
P
Oh what I won't do
Big you are too funny. I can almost see you doing all of that cleaning. Come on to my house if you have any energy left. I could sure use the help.
BigRed,
Good morning!!! Too funny, too true!!
Judy
Well I don't know about the rest of you, but I am tired just thinking about all that work.
One room...wore me out. It'll be clean until the hub's comes home for the weekend. He's like Pigpin out of the Peanut comics strip. Stuff just to sluff off of him like leaves off a tree.
Expecting extra guests for Turkey-day so gotta make everything purdy.Me,I'll wear the new sweats instead of the thread wore, paint and stain covered old one's ...LOL
Judy,
I'm checking out some of those recipe son the Sid-south Forum.

LOL
It did occur to me -- if you have two places where the light bench will fit, clearly you need to acquire a second light bench!!
LOL Excellent idea! You can never have too many light benches, but that kind of cleaning just wears me out.
critter,
I like the way you think.*G*
P
You can blame me when DH says, "now, where did that other light bench come from??"
"Critter made me do it."
Yeah, that'll fly!
bigred: I just want to know what brand of vitamins you take! I need energy like that! Unfortunately, my living room is so crammed and the furniture can't be re-arranged because the fireplace takes up one wall, my DH's 150 gallon Salt Water Aquarium takes up another wall and his huge TV cabinet takes up another! I used to re-arrange furniture every other month, many years ago, before the huge fish tank & the huge tv cabinet! At least I can re-arrange plants in my florida room and on my deck and in the screen enclosure! That keeps me busy! Speaking of which ..... it's a mess out there, so I better get off this computer and get out, and get busy!

p.s. I want to purchase a couple of those light benches! Know of a reliable source?
Lin, I don't know what P uses, but I got this stand at Sam's Club last December... I bought the light fixtures at Lowe's, I think. There are two 48" T-8 bulbs in each fixture, one per shelf except the bottom shelf which has 2 fixtures because it doesn't get any light from the window. My recollection is that the whole thing came to about $200.
The window faces south, so I keep the lightweight blind drawn to filter the light so my AVs don't fry. Earlier this summer I had problems with too much light once the sun was stronger, so I took out half the tubes and only turned them on for a few hours each day.
That looks awesome, critter!! Looks like you have space for more!!
Oooh and on wheels too! I need to go to Sam's tomorrow, will have to look for something like this!
Thanks so much!
Lin
The hub's made mine. Ugly and hard to move but it get's the job done. Only two shelves but they're 8-9 ftx2ft so I can get lots of plants in it.
Think I'm gonna have to paint it. It's been sitting out in the equipment shed for 5 ys or so.

ROFLMBO... CJ, that's the photo I took last December, the first day I had the stand set up! It's been pretty much crammed to capacity (and then some) ever since. I've been repotting and rearranging AVs the last couple of days, trying to free up space on my "isolation" shelf downstairs, and I think I'm going to have to move some of the ones I'm propagating to the basement... Time to get one of the heat mats set up on my basement light stand so they won't get too cold... who knows, maybe the new leaves will put up ears even faster with a touch of bottom heat (figured I'd set the mat's thermostat to 70').
A two foot wide shelf would be better, but the nursery flats do OK with their ends hanging off the sides...
Jill agree if she has 2 places where the cart can go she does need another! I like the way you think too.
Let's see. Two places, two stands -- I guess that makes two bags a must have. We'll call you the Two Bag Lady!
Oh lordy NO! I'm a double bagger!....LOLOLOLOLOL!
