Brug Pollen Storage
I keep mine in the plastic film containers that camera film comes in.
I dry the pollen for a day on the table away from direct sunlight and then put it in the container.
I keep the containers in a Cool Whip container. It holds several of them. I then store in the refrigerator. I usually use it up within two years but I've heard it can last longer.
You've still got film? I've forgotten about it. LOL Wish I'd kept some containers around. I went out and bought those little plastic lab tubes with a cap. I let them dry a day or two also then put them in the freezer inside an airtight freezer bag.
I put mine in a small plastic bag, then in the freezer
I use those small glassine bags then double bag them in freezer bags. They take up hardly any room and you can get the very last bit of pollen out of them for they are like wax paper, kind of. Disposable too and I just write across the front of them.
Is the pollen ready to use straight from the freezer, or does one need to set it out to become room temperature? I wondered about this when I stored my pollen, forgot to ask, but this thread has reminded me.
