Granddog has ear problem - need advice

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

My DD's dog Winston was taken to the vet for an ear infection two weeks ago. We were told it was a yeast infection caused by moisture in his ears, and given some drops to put in his ears. It's really hard to get him to be still enough to get any drops in his ears because he weighs 125 lbs. and DD gets nervous putting them in, which makes him skittish, and it's hard for us to go over to her house every night to help. She kept up with the drops until all the inflammation and odor (YUK) were gone, but now it is starting back up again. Does anyone have any ideas about how to get this cleared up permanently? I don't know if she's given him a bath since this all started, but doubt it since the weather has cooled off. He is very sweet natured (fortunately) and I just hate to see him uncomfortable.

Thanks for any ideas.
