This Gulf Fritallary is on a wild red salvia. The hummers hit them a lot also, but only stay a second or so.
Gulf Fritallary
very nice... :)
Melanie
Thank you, Melanie!
One winter when we lived in Houston The frits ate all our passion vines, in fact, killed them. Too much of a good thing. Good picture.
trois
Nice pics Trois!
Thanks, fly_girl.
Great pics trois!
Happened to me too...only killed one plant though. I trimmed them down, put the vines away and allowed some growth to get on the other 3 before I offered again. Next year going to add to them a few more PV plants to be well prepared for the ravenous little buggers~now that I know what to expect.
Even with the little cool snaps we've had there are still a few GF cats out on the vine here too. A couple are presently crysalides and will probably be eclosing and heading your way soon.
Great plant Sharona! Beautiful red blooms! Do you have any cuttings or seeds of that one?
MySharona - Me, too! I'd love some seeds from your Lady M passion vine! It's beautiful!
