GEEZE.... O.K. ALREADY... :) I received mine today as well. You got the right one Awanda. Haven't had time to read it, but the photo's are marvelous. Jeri the Fraterna is a quarterly magazine with great Hoya information and photo's. You receive it if you are a member of the International Hoya Association. You can contact SandyC if you are interested in joining.

Thanks Tami

Everybody kept talking about it arriving and I couldn't figure it out.

Jeri

Got mine too yesterday! MacGillivrayi is such an amazing hoya, with a nice, big flower. I read a bit of it this morning. It's totally fascinating that they've been found growing in piles of rock, rooted in little pockets of organic rubbish (paraphrasing here).

I agree with you Christine it is a really pretty flower. I bought a nice plant of it this fall from Awanda andI can't wait for it to bloom. What a great article on this Hoya. I was very surprised to read about shinning the leaves with mayo, as I have always heard that this did clog the leaves. Glad to know it's not just for sandwhiches anymore, and will get to polishing up some leaves.

O.K. Sandy now that you know about screaming, keep the cap off girl .... LOL :)

Tami....this article is the same on our sticky threads....

Hmmmm., using mayo? Not me.

Have fun...

I agree, Tami, I really enjoyed the H. MacGillivrayi article in the Fraterna as well. I loved, loved, loved the photos too! I loved this issue!!

I can remember my Noni using mayo to shine her carnosa....never seen her ever get even a dead leaf from it...we used it at Annie W.'s to shine leaves for the photos in her new book....

I got my copy, as well...and it is VERY interesting...photos are terrific.

There is one teeny tiny correction, however, that I would like to make. In the article about H. latifolia there is a photo of a plant on 17. I am very familiar with it because it is a photo I took of my H. aff. latifolia (IML1410) that I received from David Liddle, and it is not the H. latifolia I have from him as IML 88. This is one area where there is a lot of disagreement as to which is the REAL H. latifolia...and as I received my plants from David, I will continue to follow his determinations for them. If you have this species from me, please respect this and do not change the label. TIA.

Sandy, I don't remember Noni using mayo on her leaves. But I do still have this hoya and the leaves are very shinny. :)

Yes Carol, I was aware that the article was in the sticky, but thanks for bringing it to my attention. Now everyone that doesn't receive the Fraterna can perhaps read the article and join in on the conversation, if any about this hoya.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Oooops...correx to my last post.

The H. aff. latifolia in the picture is NOT IML 1410. It is IML 1590.

Sorry for that.
