Need help from all you organic gardeners

I am noticing beetles eating some of my plants. Some of these bugs I've never seen before! Ack!!! So what do you do about investations when you are trying to garden organically? That is becoming a dilemma for me! Different beetles on different plants! They are munching them down pretty quickly! I need some advice. Help!

I'll try.... what are they eating? do you know what kind of bugs they are? I've got a book that I can look thru for some ideas.

try mixing some oil, soap, and water. About a tsp of cooking oil, a few drop of regular dawn, and fill spray bottle with water. Mix well. Or you can buy Safersoap at Wal Mart

What Donna said is what I do.

Paige - I have NO idea what kind of bugs these beetles are. I know the milkweed beetles which I have managed to keep under control. But my cigar plant is half eatened. There are small shiny blue beetles eating it. My Skullcap plants and my Crossandras are being eaten by the black and red/orange beetles above in the photo. I have never seen either beetle before. There is definitely an infestation of them starting.

Thanks Donna! I will try the soap/oil/water idea. Does anyone else have a suggestion in case that doesn't work.
