Bad news on petfinder

Discovery Communications bought petfinder for $35 million last week. They
immediately transferred the system to their servers. The problem is
the old servers are not commpatible with the new servers. No solution
as of now. No estimated fix time. The 2 outside server companies have issues
with each other and no one has a solution. Hopefully someone will
develop a solution and restore petfinder.

I am shocked Discovery Communications was so careless when
transferring the system and servers. Petfinder's system is the
primary asset Discovery bought. They should have anticipated problems
and had a backup plan. They lost the ability to restore to the old
environment.

I do not think Discovery Communications understands the flow and
process of rescue activities that are designed around the use of
petfinder. Many of the processes are time critical because animals
lives are at stake. Kill shelters use petfinder to display animals
that will be killed if not adopted!
