I have my two Brug trees (both about 5' tall) in there (maya & P&C) and they are loaded with buds. I have one Golden Lady that is about 14" tall that have two buds on it. Then my Herrenhauser Garten brug that I have had two years now it is about 2 1/2' tall (it was just a cutting when I got it) and still hasn't Y'ed. I will give it one more year and if it doesn't do something next summer I am afraid it will be left out for Jack Frost. The same goes for my Snowbank. When I got this plant it was about 12" tall and I think it is only about 14" tall now. No room in the GH for anything that can't pay for itself in the summer.
Worked in the Green House yesterday it was 85* outside.
It's great to still be getting blooms this time of year. Your GH will smell so good when they bloom.
I had trouble with the same two Brugs. I could'nt keep Snowbank alive and HG ended up in the compost because after two years I still didn't have any buds on it.
I am going to give the snowbank and the HG one more summer and believe me I have been telling them both, that if they don't do something this next summer they won't have reservations for the winter in the GH. I know I'm being a little harsh but I will be able to use the room for something else.
I think you have exactly the correct attitude, it is not harsh.

I agree about HG I have had one for 3 yrs, it is about 6" tall and never bloomed I left it out this time, I feel bad about it but I have other plants that deserve the roo.
Doris
I also had her for three years and never seen a bloom on her.
take the 2 that wont bloom and make a new cuting out of each one ten to one they will bloom
I had to let mine go for the same types of reasons. HG had two blooms one year and three the next. Not enough bloom for me to keep it. Snowbank grew fairly well, but nothing like Maya and the leaf margins burned in the sun. It was too picky, so I gave it to someone. Liz had some better luck getting HG to bloom. I just don't have time to mess with brugs that don't bloom consistently, for me. I hope yours do better for you next summer.
Oh Linda, I am the same way. I just do not have enough room for slackers. Sounds like you will have a great show though at any moment.
I finally let HG go this year. I had blooms on it two years, but it always bloomed so late that the flowers weren't even that pretty.
We got down to 36 last night, so I will spend the day today digging and potting the rest of the brugs. that are going into the greenhouse.
Our weather is suppose to be changing today. The weatherman said this morning that we had already seened our high for the day of 51*. The last three days have been wonderful. My silly hubby left this morning for a fishing trip. I told him he had to be out of his ever loving mine to go fishing in cool weather. But he said his last tournament is scheduled for December the 2nd. He figures that one may be called off due to weather. But I don't know I have seen some very nice warm days in the early part of December.
We were beautiful in the hgh 70's the first of the week with our lows being around 46, then this morning it was down in the mid 30's.
Sunny though now, Patricia.
