question

my friend who is on the other site got some brug cuttings. they look to be cold damaged already. now last year i tried this with some cuttting of the side of the raod and none made it at all.

will cuttings make it aftyer they have had cold damage?? the first layer of skin is split in several places and looks like its peeling ( like after a sunburn on humans). i hate to tell her they wont make it and she wasted postage .

does any one have expierence with this??

I brought in a couple of cuttings from a brug that had been left out to freeze this year, thinking I might be able to send these cuttings to someone needing them. After they were inside for a couple of days, the skin started to peel. I was certain they wouldn't make it, so I tossed them. I guess it might depend on how much cold they got. Mine had gone below freezing and they were toast.

If the cells inside of the cutting were damaged I doubt they will make it.
If they were special cuttings and still feel firm I would give them a try in a glass with a couple of inches of cool water. If they are too damaged by the cold they will turn soft and mushy.

she has them in a styrofom cup but i will tell her not to hold her breathe so to speak.

i also told her to buy a grow light. as i found the most plant cutting seem to like them.
