Tapeworm Help Please !? Palmbob?

Okay, I'm in a pickle. We had a terrible time with fleas this summer despite using Frontline + on all the dogs and cats (and a couple of drops on the two rats too!).
Just a few days ago, I noticed that the cats had tapeworm segments around their bums and where they had slept. All 7 have been treated with Praziquantel. Hopefully one dose will clear them all up.
However, I have now seen segments on Shandi's behind and in her bum fur. She is a ChowChow and is very bonded with the cats. They groom each other and sleep together, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that she has them too. Our German Sheddard and Siberian Husky also play with the cats a lot and have licked them, but I have not seen segments on them. I had been told that one could use Equimax, which is a wormer for horses, and that breeders and people with lots of dogs used it frequently. When I got it though, I read the instructions and now I am afraid to give any to the dogs. I know dogs are given both the Praziquantel and Ivermectin by vets for worming.......and ours are all heartworm free......
Anyway, before I start rambling, has anyone had any experience with using this paste. The dose I'd been told to use was .2 mg/ml for a 40 pound dog. That doesn't seem like a lot. I do not want to kill my dogs by doing something stupid, but if this stuff works on dogs and breeders use it..........
Please give me your sage advice.
