Here is some information that I found about philodendrons. I just thought I would share it with all of you.
Philodendrons have been grown as houseplants since Victorian times when
the Conservatory was originally built. The name derives from the Greek
philo, love and dendron, tree.
Philodendrons will thrive in temperatures over 60 degrees Fahrenheit. They
prefer moderate to bright light, but no direct light-Don’t put them in a sunny
windowsill.
Keep the soil evenly moist, watering it until the water drains out of the
bottom of the plant’s container, then discard the drainage water. The plant
will get stressed if the soil dries out often. Stressed too often, it will become
susceptible to disease.
The leaves may need to be dusted occasionally. Don’t be concerned when
the lower leaves drop off, this is natural.

Interesting information about philodendrons
Interesting about the name. Thanks!
yes interesting.
Thought I'd share this Prince of Orange picture. This was taken at the Rawlings Conservatory last weekend and I have to have one. I need another house plant like I need a hole in my head. Called all of the Nurserys in my area and found one that had it. Going after work to pick it up. Wanta bet I find something else to bring home too. ;} Holly

I'd bet you will....I know I almost *always* do!
Congrats on finding your coveted Philo!
Here they are. I picked up the Rosemary tree on Wednesday just couldn’t resist I’ve wanted one for years. Son-In-Law brought the Schefflera yesterday it came out of a mixed planting he had. The Prince of Oranges look a little beaten up but they came home anyway got 2. I have no idea where I’m going to put all of them especially this time of year. Someone just shoot me. ;} Holly
LOL Holly! Love your Prince of Orange plants, but now I want one, too :-) The "have to have' list just gets longer and longer.
