Kathy Ann - you have dmail, I'm packing your box and need to know what all you want.
I just dmailed you Judy, thanks
Kathy what size did you order. Are they the 3" pot for $9.99?
Have you ever tried there HVH fertilizer, I have used it and it is great. Your plants do look wonderful.
I will have to look into them that is if I can make room for them. I worked out in the GH yesterday it was 85* outside. Rearranged and raked the floor my Hibiscus leaves are all falling off, but they are still blooming.
The second picture are the 3 in pots for 9.99 the first picture are the liners for 5.00 ea.
I've not used that fertilizer before.
Should I be fertilizing them now ? was kind of wondering if I should give them some fertilizer.
I really don't know for sure about fertilizing them know. Are you pinching back the new growth on your liners? I know we did that when we ordered liners from the coop about 2 years ago. It helps them to get fuller.
I couldn't fine where to check out for liners could you send me the web page.
I got my liners at www.exotichibiscus.com
got the 9.99 3 in pots at www.hiddenvalley.com
I haven't pinched back anything yet. but I will. I'd like to get some rockwool cubes to put the pinched off pieces in just to see if I can get them to root, I know they'll be tiny, but practice makes perfect, and havent found any rockwool cubes yet.
The only thing you want to pinch is the leaves.
oh really? wow I didn't know that, just pinch off all the leaves ha? glad you said that. I'm too new to hibiscus
wasn't sure what to do.
thanks
kathy
This is what I found from the coop 2 years ago.
As for pinching, my box had a letter from Carol with instructions to pinch the liners back 3 times, at approximately 2 week intervals.
I believe pinching them back helps them to become fuller. I was hoping a more experience grower would jump in here and help out.
Kathy I have been pondering over ordering from Exotic Hibiscus for the last couple of years. I remember then forget and remember again. How's their shipping rates? I have a good bit already of what they are offering in the liners so I only want to order a couple maybe. I am really getting into the oranges and was thinking of ordering a couple of Molten Lava.
P.S. I grow mine under grow lights in the winter and fertilize every 2 weeks with wonderful results. I have used the special Hibiscus Fertilizer with good results. I don't use it anymore though. I have found that for the purpose of fertilizing lots of plants it's not convenient to have to many different ferts so I am back to 20-20-20 and the results have been just as good if not better. I have better blooming once again on all my plants as well as great looking plants.
I don't remember the shipping rates, seems kind of high, they shipped in a flat rate box.
I Honestly don't remember what the rates were for both places, I tossed the receipts too.
I think I may still have the paper work on exotic hibiscus in the GH will go look and see.
and post back
