Morning all I love rain as it is needed but am tired of it. It was way to cold at the coast this week end.
I hope Thanksgiving week end is warmer there.
My photo program has gone whackie so I can't post pictures so I am just blaz ze or how ever you spell it.
My coleus are looking sick in the basement. Palm trees are doing fine so far.

I have the winter bloz. Bah Hum Bug
Hi Lavina - Well the weather is going to be slightly warmer and less rainy for the next few days, so maybe that will cheer you up.
I moved my oxalis triangularis indoors - it has been in a partly shaded spot most of the summer and the leaves are beautiful dark wine red. I put it a crystal bowl on my dining room table and it is quite spectacular. Know it will thin out and shed before long, but for now it's nice to enjoy. Here's a photo. My Mom gave me the bowl years ago - it's American cut glass.
Did you come to New Bern for Ghost Walk? Heard it was nice. The Captain and I were very busy with the Cruisers' Rendezvous then, so we didn't make it.
There's a nice, small perennial garden in the front corner of the New Bern Farmers' Market. Lots of nice seed pods now.
The next New Bern event that is interesting to me is The Holly and The Ivy Holiday Homes Tour, sponsored by the New Bern Women's Club. Saturday December 9th from noon until 5:00 p.m. The huge newly renovated Blades house (across from the Craven Public Library) will be on a tour. There are six houses on the tour, it is only a one day tour, and tickets are limited at $12.00. Anyone planning to go?

Hum I will be down the Friday after Thanksgiving then not back till the 16th.
That bowl is beautiful. I have a large huge platter that would look good under that bowl. MaybeLOL
I plan on putting up the Chrismas Tree that week of Thanksgiving.
Maytbe we can get togetheer sometime that week end.
Lavina
Ooh. I'll be gone. Spending Thanksgiving in California with my kids and grandkids! Back November 29.

Hi, Lavinia Mae--remember me? Thought I'd cheer you up by giving you an update on your coleus! As you know, the poor, unfortunate soul suffered a tragic beheading at the hands of the (angelic) six year old you met. All's well that ends well, though, as it did root and is doing well.
Too bad you weren't at the coast this past weekend--the weather was unbelievable. My husband and son even swam outdoors in an unheated pool--wow, how's that for November weather? It all changed, of course, on Sunday, when the rain blew in, but was great while it lasted. Hope you enjoyed some nice weather here. Hang in there, Spring will come!
Hey lady, I had a yard sale. It was beautiful here. I made $36 LOL.
I was at the coast week before last and it only got up into the 50s until the day we came home then it went up to the 70s. Maybe Thanksgiving week end will be pretty there also.
Hope Ugh grows well for you I'll talk to you later.

Entlie-your oxalis can be moved back outside for winter if they start to look bad. Mine have been hardy for 2 winters now (in pots and in ground) and come back bigger than ever. I'm from Atlantic Beach and plants are much happier in Eastern NC winter than they are here. Nice idea to bring them in for some foliage.
kwx7NC, Thanks! I moved half back into the house, and left half in the ground in a very protected spot!

Well I really have the winter bloz now, because I've had a cold or some other bug for a month now. All the vitamin C and antibiotics don't seem to be helping - or they help me get over one thing and I get another.
But I'm perking up, thinking about LavinaMae's North Carolina Roundup in May. Is it still on?
Entlie
Hey you all. I hope to have the round up priobably the last of May as Ed is retiring the 1st of May. Wish I could retire then. I hope his retiring don't effect the round-up as he says he is moving -in at the coast then and I can come down on the week-ends.LOL
I have had a head and chest cold since the 2nd week in Dec. On my 2nd round of meds. I feel better but the 77 degree weather at Kennel's Beach has done me in again I think. I got back to Raleigh last night and its 30 degrees on my back porch. UGH.
Lavina
Oh, I'm sorry you have been feeling yukky, LavinaMae. I, too, am finally feeling better and getting a little energy back.
The May Roundup (Whenever it takes place!) sounds like fun, And if your place isn't available, we could meet in a park or on the beach somewhere!
