FYI (Someone asked about this in one of the threads on omlettes in a bag): In their October 2006 issue, the the Trailer Life RV enthusiast's e-newsletter suggested that their readers try the Omlette in a Bag, also called the Ziploc Omlette. They received the following from S. C. Johnson:
SC Johnson: "We do not recommend using any Ziploc brand bag in boiling water, or to "boil" in the microwave. Ziploc brand bags are made from polyethylene plastic with a softening point of approximately 195 degrees F. By pouring near-boiling water (water begins to boil at 212 degrees F) into the bag, or putting the bag into the water, the plastic could begin to melt." For more information, please contact S C Johnson, 1-800-494-4855, or visit http://www.scjbrands.com/contact/.
That said, I see an opportunity for an entrepreneurial type.... ;-)
