Some time ago, I promised Butch I'd post a picture of the B. valida concrete leaf I made in September. Finally got around to taking a picture. This has been hanging on our deck for over a month and I couldn't wait to experiment this winter painting it. Unfortunately when I grabbed it from where it was hanging, I guess I wasn't using caution and the darned thing broke in half and shattered on the deck :((( But I DID promise a picture, so I gathered most of the pieces and took the picture anyway.

That looks great! What a shame it shattered like that. What will you do now? Glue it back together? You might be able to use it as a mosaic on some kind of backing.
We had bought some whimsical artwork (about $125 and quite heavy) from an arts and crafts fair and had it hung in our foyer. My sister-in-law was visiting with her two kids. Her daugher was taking her stuff to their car the morning they left and every time she walked through the door she would slam it. I kept telling her not to slam the door. About the third time she left the house and slammed the door, the heavy piece fell off the wall, broke in several pieces and also put a chunk in a small cedar chest I bought at another art & crafts fair. I kept the broken pieces but have never glued it back (yet) and threaten to send it to my niece as a birthday or Xmas gift. The craftsman said we could use epoxy to glue it back together since he glues a lot of his decorations on this way.
Debbie, those are just beautiful. You can still see the beauty even on the shattered one. Awesome work!

Butch, thanks for the suggestion - I think I just might try to pick up all the pieces and glue it back together :)
GH, thank you for the compliments - not sure I'd consider it "awesome" after seeing some of the work posted on the Hypertufa Form by others more experienced, but fun nonetheless and I plan to keep trying!
