Great! I send you a d-mail.....

Anaid,

I sent cuttings out last Saturday. Can you please advise if you got them? I have not received the double red hibiscus cutting you were sending me in trade yet. Can you tell me when you mailed them out?

Thanks,

Daisy

Daisy,
She D-mailed me and said she didn't get mine out this last week because of sickness. Said she hoped her son would help her get them out soon.

Hey Tami,

I've heard nothing from her. Hopefully she will get in contact with me soon.

Hey how are the plants you got from me at the swap doing? Hope they are doing well....if not you know I will replace them.

Daisy,
I think she has been sick. She d-mailed me to let me know that she would be getting her trades off soon. I'm gonna be going to SA in the next few days and I offered to drop by to pick my plants up. What ever might make things easier.
The plant i received from you are doing great. Your plants are always so healthy. I'm putting up another greenhouse this week and need to get all my Plumeria in before the weekend. I heard on the news tonight that it might get down to freezing Tuesday night. I guess I'll start digging tomorrow. Need to get it all done before leaving town.
Hay have you moved yet. I heard you had property you were moving to.
Keep in touch.

Hey Tami,

Do you have family in San Antonio? I do.

I was looking to buy 3 acres in Siena Point. But there were problems with the land survey that I didn't like so I passed on it. I'm staying here for now, until another great deal surfaces.

Daisy,
I don't have family in SA but real close friends. We go often.

Anaid,

I got the cuttings you sent me. I posted here to let everyone know that I did finally get your end of the trade after posting a negative feedback due to no communication or trade from you. I don't know how to change it or I would. I guess you are new to trading so I'm going to post this here so new traders might also learn from this experience.

Since the 2 cuttings came in a small padded envelope the mail man put them in my mail box (at the street) with all my other envelopes. Had they come in a priority mail box the mail man would have left them under cover at my door step and I would seen it right away to bring them in from the cold. I had temperatures of 30 degrees (freezing) here last night. Marking the envelope 'live plant' would have also told the mail man not to leave the package in my mail box. I don't rush to get my mail when I'm busy throwing sheets on plants in my yard and setting up heaters in the green houses. They know I get lots and lots of priority mail trades from DG's at my house. They will even put the envelope marked 'SEEDS' on my doors step. Yes, I have a wonderful mail man. I'm hoping that the cuttings are still viable since they were not properly packed for freezing weather. The 2 oz of soil wrapped in a small amount of plastic at the cut end was not enough to protect them from the freeze. The problem was further compounded by the fact that they were not the 4 hard wood cuttings your promised for the many cuttings I sent of Abutilon pictum variegatum and Pachystachys lutea. My chances of getting a live double red hibiscus plant from this is slim to none. Now, if I had got them back when you originally promised to ship, this way of packing would have been perfect. But not for the freezing weather we had last night. I'm crossing my fingers.

Now I would like direct you to the sticky post at the top of the plant trading forum that Kim Gaither was so kind to put together for new traders and to keep us veterans traders from pulling our hair out when plants and cutting arrive dead or almost dead. LOL! You all know what I'm talking about. LOL! Plus its such a waste of time, plants and money when someone doesn't know how to properly pack plants. Now you don't have go to the extreme when shipping cuttings in warm weather but similar packing would benifit a plant during the winter months. THANK YOU! THANK YOU Kim Gaither! (where is Kim these days?)

Hopefully this will help you and others.

Sorry to disappoint u but those arent what I sent. I did send them priority and I didnt send any seeds....good effort though

Anaid,

Let me help you understand this post. The seed package next to your cuttings are for size reference only and do not imply that you sent me seeds. You DID NOT send the seeds, those are my seeds. You DID however send the two cuttings in this photo. I put my red name tag on them because I like to have everything properly tagged. If you will recall all the cuttings I sent you were properly tagged as well. You did send the package priority mail but they came in this envelope which I'm attached a photo of. You will notice the same seed package is next to the envelope again for size reference only. Since your end of the trade came when it was freezing here this packing did not offer enough protection from freezing temps we had last night.

I had hoped that you could learn from this experience so that others might enjoy trading with you in the future. Everyone makes mistakes when they first start trading and Dave's is filled with excellent traders that you might hopefully learn from.
