Astrophytum 'Hubuki'
Astrophytum myriostigma

A beautiful cultivar of this plant. Offsets furiously with stems only a half inch thick.

Franj,

These two photos don't show v. columnaris but a Japanese hybrid, with a name I can't recall right now.
Please ask to get these photos removed here.

Well now, if you could at least remember the cultivar name, I could ask that it be moved to a new entry. But without more to go on, I'm afraid the entry will have to stand.

There is a very similar cv called HUBUKI

check this link:

but I think yours is the HUBOKI one.

Hi franj,

What do you think? There isn't yet an entry for Astrophytum myriostigma 'Huboki', but if you agree with Jordi's assessment, you are welcome to create the entry and we would be happy to move the photo. Please let us know.

Sorry haven't had much time for Daves lately. After looking closely at the link Jordi provided, that includes a good description and comparison pictures of Huboki and Hubuki, I have to disagree. My plant is a "Hubuki" as it lacks the more random pattern of felting seen in the "Huboki" cultivar. Not that it matters much, the plant shrivelled and died on me, and I have little hope of ever getting a chance at another one.

So I will instaed create an entry for the "Hubuki" cultivar and request that the picture be moved.

Thanks,

Dave
