Anyone do Butterfly Crafts?

St Augustine, FL(Zone 9a)

I am teaching myself how to do seed beading with the ultimate plan of making butterfly pins that are the exact replicas of the BF's that I see in my garden.

Anyone else do anything like this?

What?? seed beading? Can you elaborate? pics? It sounds cool but like it might drive me nuts. lol I've been sitting and sorting thru seeds for a couple of hours and it's so tedious. I don't know why it's stressful to me tho because I love to cross-stitch and sew, and even deadhead!

Here is a seed-beaded butterfly. I don't think it is particularly well done. I want to make an exact replica of (for example) a Monarch and make it into a pin. But since I have not done anything like this before, i need to learn the basics first.

Oh! That's cute! And much easier than I thought since you are doing with beads and not flower seeds! That still sounds hard tho. Keep showing us your progress.

I didn't do this one. It is just an example of what I want to do. But I have just begun working with seed beeds so have a number of stitches to learn first. I want to make a pin of a Monarch, but to have the wings and center done separately so it looks like the BF has just landed. We'll see. I just wondered if anyone else here does anything with butterfly crafts.
