budgie lover sent me a cutting of this tithonia
Very pretty flower.
WOW Bob Stunning we use to have this. Gosh should have had Jan bring me a cutting last time she came over. I will have to ask her for a cutting ! I miss having it !
Just beautiful, Bob, against that clear blue Florida sky!
Beautiful Bob you have the most beautiful plants always :))
Wow Bob, that Plumeria is Georgeous! I have my very first Plumie ever .... got it from another DG'er for postage a few weeks ago! It is just a stick right now, can't wait till spring and summer to see if it will grow for me and bloom. Have no idea what color it is. I LOVE that Kakua Wilder you posted the photo of! What a beautiful color! Do they all have fragrance? Do you keep yours in the ground year round, or in containers? I am going the container route with mine since we do get hard freezes here in Daytona at times!
I am going to do some research on that Tithonia .... never heard of that one, and I like it!

we can grow our Plumerias in ground year round , not sure if you get colder than us ? Some years we don't even lose leaves. But this year ours was flowering and beautiful foliage until Nov, 8 th. we had them trans-planted as we moved next door and they did not like it. I think the guys that did the work did not take enough roots of our plants just pulled them up as our Hibiscus are not happy either. Bromelaids, and Begonias, Crown of Thorns all did fine.
I'm not sure if Bob keeps his in the ground year round but he had like 300 different types :))
I am hoping to get more in Spring maybe around Feb/march and some more Bromelaids, Hibiscus and some type of climing roses. I got a lot of different seeds in trades and those are so much fun too :)) Oh my I can't wait we love them all !
Yes, Violet_Treasure .... we do get colder weather over here on the East Coast You are on the Gulf Side of the State and the Gulf is always a lot warmer than the Atlantic. We have had very mild winters the past 4 or 5 years, but we sometimes get heavy frost and have real hard freezes at times. It usually doesn't last long but January & February are when we have our coldest temp's. So, real Tropical Plants must be moved inside ... not planted in the ground. So, if I grow Plumeria's I will have to keep them in containers .... wouldn't want to take the chance on them freezing! Where does Bob live? He must be farther South if he has that many different types and keeps them in the ground year round! If not, I want to know his secret! I would love it if I could put them in the ground and leave them! I have so much stuff now that I have to move in when we have cold snaps .... and my house ain't that big ... it gets crowded with all my plants in here!
