OK, something struck my cordyline collection, little white things, ugh! I sprayed all with insecticidal soap and added Bonide's systemic to the worse one. What is this stuff that struck 2 months after bringing them inside? And I sprayed them off with insecticidal soap before I brought them in too, hoping to avoid critters.
Critters on cords - help!
bbinnj, is it mealybugs? http://davesgarden.com/bf/go/1553/
Mealies would be my first guess as well. The best way I've found to get rid of them is take a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol and swab them off.

SB very interesting thread, hope jeradsmom got her MBs cleared up. Unfortunately they are in the soil and on plants outside so when you bring those plants into the house or GH they will be there too- you just have to keep up w/ treatment, which we all admit is our downfall.
Was away, but think it was spider mites. Think they are gone too, still doing the i-soap every few days. Brought the plants inside 2 months ago and no critters until last week. Don't understand it. Do any of you know why it took 2 months for the critters to appear and why they appeared after a dousing in i-soap?
Well, if you sprayed the i-soap and they appeared two months later, there's your answer. After two months, the first and only application would have worn off. I would keep up the i-soap about every two weeks (if they appear again after that, maybe every week to 10 days). I think every few days for the i-soap is too much.
