Hello all..
I checked out the sticky threads above and went to Brad's World to find out just exactly which begonia I have.. only to become more confused than ever. I thought it was a Dragon Wing. Then I saw Angel Wing. Then Brad's went on to say those are classified as canes. So... does anyone know which kind this one it is? The doe that frequented my yard a while back knocked it over and broke two-thirds of the branches off, so I have pieces I am rooting in water. Some of these are quite l-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-ng and I was wondering if I could cut them into pieces to get more plants.
Thanks for your help.

Which Is It??
Barb, you indeed have a hybrid called 'Dragon Wing'. Two common ones are DW Red and DW Pink.
Angel Wing is a term that refers to the type of begonia (aka Cane begonia), Dragon Wing begonias are the result of crossing two types of begonias, begonia semperflorens x cane begonia.
If your stems are too long, you can cut them to make shorter cuttings. I think it's up to your preference. I've at times found that the longer the cane, the better the chance of rooting. If the bottom rots at all, you can trim and keep trying. Once rooted and potted up, you may want to pinch it back to allow for a bushier begonia, and the bonus is another cutting to root!

Thanks, Lali!

Hi Lin. It looks to be the same leaf shape. I like the contrast of the bloom color and leaf color on yours, too. That light, bright green is very pretty.

Lin, I'd say it is a Dragon Wing! Mine bloomed all winter inside my greenhouse. I only heat it to 48 at night so it took the cold nights pretty effortlessly!
