Bulb Forcing: Muscari

Newmarket, ON(Zone 5a)

I've recently moved houses and the new one came with a cute cottegy-looking garden shed which I'm using to force bulbs. The Muscari were already coming up and according to some websites I'd browsed, no cooling was needed for these, but they never bloomed when I brought them in. Anyone have success forcing muscari?

It has never worked very well for me either. Follow the directions for daffs. I decided it wasn't worth continuing given how easy it was to force other bulbs. They do need a cooling period.

Just keep taking care of them Muscari will come into flower quite a while after the leaves show up.....be patient and they'll do right.

How tall should the leaves get? I thought they were short. I've trimmed the leaves twice for a total of about 12 inches and it's about 12 inches now. Are my Muscari leaves over-growing?

My muscari always come up in the fall and the leaves eventually fall over and then in spring they bloom and die away. Then it starts over again. I have always thought it was strange. I thought something was wrong because they start coming up in September. But that's just the way they do.

KittyMom,
The muscari I planted in the front yard are coming up now too! I'm glad you posted, otherwise I would have freaked out when I saw them first a few days ago.
The indoor muscari - I'll just keep it as a grassy plant for now and see what happens.
