Paul, I cross-linked your picture to a thread on the Tree and Shrub Forum with a small message. What a great picture! I've been trying to get a good shot of Muhlenbergia for weeks now to no avail. Were you shooting film, or is this a digital picture?

Thank you. :) It is a digital photo but the only advise I can give you is that it helps to photograph it in the morning or evening when the sun in low and take the photo from the side opposite the sun. Also perhaps try to get your depth of field shallow (in this case I did that by using a lot of zoom) so that the background doesn't merge with the subject.
