Brug. Forever Morr

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

I have waited all summer for this bloom. I had the worse time with broad mites on this brug, so the foliage looks terrible. This is it's winter color, since we are very cool here now.

That's so pretty!! I love that delicate shade of pink.
I think that was my fist cutting to bite the dust on me too!!

Glad it finally bloomed for you - it's a lovely color.

I think it is actually suppose to be darker, but all pinks are light here when we get cool.

Patricia, you are right, ForeverMorr gets much darker during the summer and does very well in the heat, too. I'm sorry you had such a bad case of Broadmites on her. I had two of them in the garden and they were never touched by the mites. However, I sure had a few on some of the potted brugs until I got them sprayed.

I had two brugs. this summer that had broad mites, and I just couldn't seem to get rid of them. I also wondered if I had sprayed them too frequently and what you see on the leaves is from too much chemical and not the broad mites themselves. If you look at the picture closely you can see how bad they are.

I had one brug that I killed from spraying when it was too warm. Well, not really killed, but it was destroyed beyond my wanting to keep it. The leaves did become speckled and even turned a deep, deep green and were hard feeling. Nothing I did would bring it out of it, so I tossed her. Monika told me it was due to the mites, the spray, and the heat. It was a bad year for growing brugs in Iowa. Oh yes, I had two brugs that got mites so bad that I broke them off at the ground and tossed the tops. They both grew back, but not in time to bloom.

We had a really hot summer too, so that and the insecticide and Neem it seemed like I was usuing every two weeks probably did it.

ForeverMorr has a lot of color during the summer months. She is a good bloomer too. Wind is about the only thing I've had trouble with and it tends to tear her leaves, but I'm talking high winds. I'm told that she is very heat tolerant. That is a good thing. I know she never wilted for me, planted in the ground, and with 115 degree heat index this last summer. This picture isn't actually this dark, but was taken at dusk and that changes the color of the blooms for me.

I have a couple of brugs that the leaves look like that.. One I got to come out of it.. but one still looks like crap with bumpy pale leaves that look burnt.. I hate it!! I am gonna cut it back to near nothing and just hope for the best.. I'm glad you posted about spaying too much, that is probably what I did.. I had a few that just were solid mites... seemed like no matter what I did.
