Some New blooms

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

I am finally having a few blooms. The rest of my brugs. are loaded with buds, but I don't have high hopes that they will make it too blooming before frost.

These first couple pictures are of B. Desiree. It is taking a long time for the buds to open and even longer for them to get their color. As you can see in these pictures, they are still trying to color up.

The skirt is finally dropping down. I have been so excited to finally get to see this brug. bloom after growing it for two years.

Congrats on your bloom, Patricia. I had Desiree for three years and never seen a bloom.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

she is simply beautiful,

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Nice. Never bloomed for me either, so it is no more!

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

That was my attitude this year. If it didn't bloom it was out of here, but it has at least 6 buds on it.

Hooks, TX

Please keep posting pictures of this beautiful bloom, especially when the other skirt drops. The color is coming on strong! Is it a peach, apricot or orange?

So glad you kept it !!!!

Louise

She is Beautiful....
Well worth the wait. What a patient woman you are.

Kin, I seem to be a glutton for punishment., I just have such a hard time getting rid of any brug. I guess I am still at the brug. addiction level. I have a very good brug. friend that seems to finally be getting past it, but I feel like I am just starting.

This is the final picture of Desiree. It has taken forever for it too color up, but now it is so much prettier than when I took the first pictures.

That is some nice color on her now, Patricia. Congrats on getting her to show so much color for you. I didn't keep mine. When I can't get bloom quickly, I give up and I gave up on her. Wish now that I hadn't. LOL!

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

I left this one in the ground overwinter and it didn't look so good come Spring, But it quickly leafed out and I was so excited to get to see it bloom. I am going to root the pieces that have buds on them now, and hopefully I will get more blooms this Spring. I don't like having to wait two years for blooms either.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well shoot Patrica, I may need this one. LOL. If I recall correctly I never could get this one to thrive. She looks likes a small bloom, is she? How do you rate her against Cream sickle?

Hooks, TX

Patricia,
I love the peachy apricot color.
Thanks so much for the follow up pictures. I brought
a rooted cutting of this one from the East TX-RU
last weekend and also just received a cutting from
'yardbird'. I'm sooooo excited to be growing this one
for next year's blooms.

Thanks again,
Louise

I was thinking of letting mine stay outside this year. Maybe I should rethink about putting her in the greenhouse. She's sweet!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Beautiful bloom Patricia.
I let mine go a couple of years ago. It grew well but had very few blooms.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Kell, I would say that this one has smaller blooms, either that or it is just because it is so stressed from the cold that they didn't size up. I will root you a start off it if you would like one. Creamsickle is a much more prolific bloomer for me.

Thank you all, I keep going out to look at her again now that she has colored.

mpabbott1, after leaving her out overwinter and getting frosted on numerouse occassions, she looked really bad with lots of cork by Spring. But nothing that looks diseased. I will probably root cuttings off her and leave her in the ground again this winter just to see what she does. It did take her two years to bloom for me though.

That's gorgeous!! What a beauty and a double!!

Thanks so much, Patricia. After an bitter inner struggle, I will say no but thanks so much for the thought for now. I just got 2 boxes of cuttings in the mail and I am thinking where am I going to put all of those. Why am I such a plant hound? We started to put up the hoophouse today and reality hit. What a mess. I have way too many plants. I have to squeeze in so many plumerias, hibiscus, begonias, brugs, EEs and so many others. I may need some intensive psychiatric help. Always in the past I have slowed way down in my plant lust by fall, but not this year.

I know what you mean Kell, I will be cutting back and digging the rest of my brugs. by next week it looks like. Our nights are suppose to get down to around 44, and like you, I don't know how I am going to fit them all in, and this is after getting rid of most of my hoya's.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

Getting rid of most of your hoyas????? What is that all about??? Patricia you always can keep me in mind for a cutting if you have extras.

Patricia:
This looks great. Nice green leaves too.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Patricia, she is a real beauty!
I'd say she was worth the wait, she sure has a wonderful color.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

We are getting really cool again, so I was really surprised to see the other buds starting to open. The first day the trendils were out, I could already see the orange color.

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Beautiful bloom and great pictures.
