Been a long time since I raised AV's so I'm doing a little refresher research. Looking for pix of plants that best represent different foliage types of "Tommie LOu""Champion" and "Lillian Jarret"and boy foliage
Brushing up on terms
Here is some explanation of leaf types. I tried to find a color one but didn't locate it. Maybe someone else will find something better.

Bigred -
Here are examples of different types of african violet variegation;
Mosaic variegation -
'Festive Holiday' (8239) [S.Sorano]
Semidouble white pansy/variable red edge. 'Mosaic' variegated light green, ovate, quilted. Standard.
Note: This variety actually grows more as a semi-miniature in size
Example of Champion variegation also known as crown variegation. Ethel Champion was famous for hybridizing this type of variegation.
'Ramblin' Amethyst' (6187) [E.Champion]
Double lavender/variable fantasy. Crown variegated medium green and yellow. Plain. Standard trailer.
This is a juvenile plant starting to pretty up with rosy pink leaves. Can't wait to see it in lavender bloom.
Thanks group,
That was very helpful. Pix are great...now I gotta have all those pictured....LOL

AVA has loads of info along with stickys. I love Mosaic being most stable variegation by leaf progation. Thoug Ethel Champion one of my faovirte hybridizers who died last summer in her 90's has many Mosaic AV"S. The first If recall was
Lilian Jarrett Variegated (2902) 09/28/1989 (F. Tinari) Double pale pink. Mosaic variegated medium green, pointed, serrated. Standard
Which was a " SPORT" from ;Lilian Jarrett (1060) 06/09/1961 (F. Tinari) Double light pink. Pointed, quilted, serrated. Large
I love the Champion Crown variegation was named after Ethel Champion though you won't see the desricption " Champion Foliage in FC you will see crown variegation "
Cabbage Patch (E. Champion) Double light pink ruffled. Crown variegated dark green and ivory, plain. Standard
Tommie Lou was the first variegation AV registered. and so all foliage with variegation like Tommie Lou is called like Tommie Lou foliage though an other term " Tommie Lou you will not find in First Class" descriptions.
Tommie Lou (1744) 10/25/1967 (T. Oden) Double white/light orchid center. Variegated dark green, plain, quilted. Large
Not sure if anyone wrote this above but
Blue Boy was the First of the Original ten named registered African violets :))
Blue Boy (41) 1948 (Armacost & Royston) Single dark violet-blue. Ovate, pointed. Standard
From Blue Boy Blue Girl and Pink Girl Sported giving us our first Girl Foliage PLants :))
Pink Girl (AVS48) (R. Baxter) Single pink. Ovate girl foliage. Standard
and
Blue Girl (AVS48) (C. Ulery) Single blue-violet. Round girl foliage. Standard
