I've got to jump right in here and ask a question because I know nothing about hibiscus, except that they're absolutely beautiful. I've had a some growing in the garden this year and & don't want to loose them. A couple were only labled "tropical hibiscus" and I'm sure they won't survive outdoors here in the middle of Texas. So, I took them up and potted them today, to bring them inside. Now...what do I expect from them over the winter? Will they die back & I'm just trying to save the roots, or should I expect growth thru the winter indoors? I've been trying to root cuttings, in water and in soil, but no luck with that yet. Please advise the new kid...

tropical hibiscus question
Janice, if you can give them heat and light they will keep growing ... and blooming from time to time. Just water them very few (once each two or three weeks). If the plants don't have heat but the temperature is a bit above freezing they will lose most leaves and some tips will burn but in Spring they will show new growth. As you guessed with freeze during several days - or hours if it's severe - they will die.
Regards
Carlos
Thank you so much, Carlos. I had no clue what to expect. Now I'm looking forward to having them indoors to brighten my winter!
