Giant Swallowtail Chrysalis

St Augustine, FL(Zone 9a)

Here is my GS pupa. It has been there for almost a month now and shows no interest in changing. Karen

hmmmm something maybe wrong. Mine all hatched in 10 to 14 days. Wonder if it is going to overwinter as a pupa?? Should have still been warm enough in your zone

Is definitely warm enough. I guess I will keep him over winter and hope for an awakening in spring. Karen

Very good chamo to protect it! :-) It will probably emerge in the Spring!

You just never know what they are going to do. I had about 15 or so GF's pupate over 2 weeks ago. I wasn't sure what they were doing but today 8 of them eclosed!

We've got 9 BSTs that pupated about 3 -4 weeks ago. I just figured they'd stay all winter and get a jump on spring.

I hope that is what it is doing.
