How could blue get more beautiful?

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

I found this little african violet at WM yesterday and I was just blown away by the color of the blooms. They are so gorgeous. And it actually had a name. Its name is Sami.

Stunning color! I love blue violets!
I also wish my Wal-Mart would get in some nice Av's....They have some sad looking optimara noids and they just dont take care of them right..poor things, they had gnats flying around them. Lowes has a nice display of optimara violets..even some space violets but I am so wary of buying one and bringing home unwanted guests with it... they just seem "buggy" to me...so I refrained. They had pollen dust around the flowers and this old lady told me that could be because of some bug, cant remember what type she said...so I didnt want to chance it.The Home Depot violets had gnats buzzing around them so that was a no no for me to even think of buying any from them. I just dont buy from them...I guess the people there just dont take care of them right, or care to, especially the violets. Its a shame because some were so pretty.

Stores like Walmart and HD do not take care of their plants at all. I have seen hundred dollar trees and plants start out looking so beautiful and wind up dying because of lack of care. They also have a bad habit of over-watering which the fungus gnats just love. One thing that I have done in the past was to keep a solution of Bayer Tree and Shrub mixed up in a bottle and as soon as I get home I go ahead and water with that. It will kill things like fungus gnats and works for a whole year. I kill all the little mean creatures as I water plus it lasts for a year. Oh, for house plants, you mix one ounce to a gallon of water. It seems a little expensive when you buy it but it lasts forever. I'm still using the first bottle that I bought over a year ago.
