Fertilizing brugs

Los Alamos, NM(Zone 5a)

I am new to brugs. I have two in a sunny window and am watering them a lot. They can't stay outdoors in zone 5a as I understand it. They seem to be doing fine, but how often and with what do I fertilize them? In the summer I will put them outdoors in pots. Does the fertilizing pattern change with more warmth and light? I am eager to treat them as well as humanly possible.

Good question and I suppose it depends upon what you want. If you fertilize very little they won't grow much, but if you put the fertlizer to them, they may outgrow the area you have for them.

Thanks! So I guess I can keep them small until Spring. Would you recommend no fertilizer until spring then?

I always feed mine a little along the way, every month or so. I use Miracle Gro 20-20-20 when they are inside.

Thanks! I just returned from a 10 day trip in which I left the house at 60 degrees. When I went to check my brug, I found it had three georgeous blooms. Yippee! Guess I will reward it with a good feeding of Miracle Gro. Thanks for the info.

Say no more! I am as proud as a new grandparent. Here is the Brug I purchased in Denver at the Denver Botanic Garden sale at the end of September. It is a Jenn Pasco.
