Denver, CO

I made it. Only just. I blame Delaware and it's small size.

Lindenhurst, NY

I got a 26 out of 48. Now I'm having my 12 yr old son take it.. brb

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I got 43/48 in the time alloted. Not fast enough. I would like to see an 8 yr. old third grader do this LOL! I wonder how many third grade teachers could do it?? I think I need to fine tune my method. Congrats, Kenton!

Cincinnati, OH

I got it on the second try.

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

I failed too.LOL

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

I failed it too. I only got 24 out of 48.

I "dropped" a few in the wrong place while trying to drag them with the mouse, but I did fine. There's a similar game that I'll have to try to locate where you have to put the state SHAPES into place, like a puzzle... :-)

Kenton, I'm going to pick at your post only because your grammar is usually impeccable and because this is an "education" thread, LOL. The possessive of "it" is "its." The contracted form of "it is" is "it's," but other than that there is no apostrophe in "its." I'm sure it was just a typo. ;-)

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Here is another fun map game site. If you get really good at the United States, you can go on to Canadian provinces or even choose a different continent altogether. I love this stuff so I have to keep away from it until all my chores are done. LOL

Oh, what a great site! Thanks, Marylyn!

Level 3 of the States game is similar to the game I was looking for... I tried it just now and got 45/50, with an average error of 42 miles... but remember I'd found the similar game just a couple of years ago, LOL, so that's not very impressive. There's a bit of luck involved.... it's trickier when you get Nebraska as one of the first states to place!

Crossville, TN(Zone 6b)

Second try for me. Thanks I enjoyed it. Linda

Denver, CO

Grammer well observed, Jill, it is quite aggravating for who it matters to...

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

LOL, you did that quite deliberately, didn't you??!? You're just a scamp.

(Added because I can't help myself... "for those to whom it matters.") ROFLOL

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

The short bus is coming for me. I get rattled when timed.

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Got all 48 on the first try, but it was turning red LOL I'm gonna let my 2nd and 3rd graders try this (maybe my 16yr old too LOL)

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

I only got 22 on my first try. I have an 8 yo DS who is in the third grade. I'll have to see if he can do this when he gets out of school today.

Denver, CO

Tell us how he does, MGH.

Dear Jill, although your corrections were well-meaning joke fodder, you do succeed in reminding me of a good old underused word. I am a scamp!

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Doh! I forgot about this.....tomorrow, maybe. LOL

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

LOL... "scamp" was one of my grandmother's favorites terms... of course, she applied it only to my brother, never to me! ;-)

I'm please to report that I'm now all "brushed up on" my state capitols, and I finally know which of the Great Lakes is Lake Huron. Marylyn, thanks again for that link!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

You're welcome! I'm always glad to spread the silliness - I mean the education around! LOL When you get done with geography, you can go to this link and learn how to tie your shoes: http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/knots.htm
