CLOSED: have: CLEOME LUTEA ...........15 seeds

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

i am looking for unusual seeds. hard to find salvia, agastache or hibiscus seeds. or something unusual that is red! also, would like unusual milkweed varieties esp. pink, yellow and purple.

i got these in trade just yesterday and they were harvested recently. thanks and lmk what you have to trade. barb

also, i had a hard time finding these seeds. i asked for and got quite a few of these seeds so i have MORE than one trade. i just don't want any of us to have this hard of a time finding these seeds ever again. so grow 'em and SHARE 'em.

Hi mamajack.
During my search for these seeds, I came in contact with a gentleman that had some of the seeds but used them for a project he was doing....
I just emailed him today asking for any info he can give me on seed care and planting of these... As soon as I hear back from him, I will post his reply, if he can help...

I have hibiscus seeds. Large dinner plate red with unusual foliage. Was told these were called Fireball. Also have Luna Pink Swirl, also a cross pollination of the two, and a pink one with a red eye that I have not a clue what the name is. Also, I could possibly tempt you with some blue impatiens.
Would love to try the yellow if there's enough left.

Hello mamajack :) I got a reply from the person I told you about, this is the site he sent me to. http://www.pfaf.org/database/plants.php?Cleome+lutea I am not sure I under stand the propagation so I may need to have it explained to me in ENGLISH terms rofl... I am new to this and trying to figure things out is sometimes a little hard for me, I am more of a show me time and do along with person lol... Aren't I gonna have fun trying to winter sow :o)

Connie

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

sounds like they contradict themselves, huh? i think you need to surface sow. the soil needs to be well drained. they need sun but here i am going to give them morning sun only. i will try some in full sun too i think just to see. normally they grow in sandy soil i guess. i have a bed with store bought dirt mixed with my native clay. it is well drained and i will hope for the best. and winter sowing is going to be fun. i wish us both good luck. this will be my first year to do it too.

hummerlou, did i respond to you? i will dmail you. barb

Bay City, MI(Zone 5a)

Hi Mamajack,
I have some seeds of Nemesia Mello Red to share for a few of your Clome Lutea. I will d-mail you.
