Whats going on with the cygnet? 2 weeks ago it started to look droopy I gave it a water but its never looked good again?i put it under lights, still looks bad. What am I doing wrong?
Droopy Cygnet?
Oh it's Ok Cygnets droop. Take it out of the pot check make sure it's not too wet in there. Give it new soil top, bottom and sides. Cygnets like it more moist.
It does not really look bad Jan.
Cygnets seem to like humidity, too. Maybe yours isn't loving dry autumn air. Mine was looking like that until I moved it to a gravel tray for extra humidity.... try putting it on a saucer with a some water and a few pieces of gravel (or a canning jar ring) to hold the bottom of the pot out of the water.
As Allison said, it definitely doesn't look bad, but it just doesn't look as perky as it might.
Don't ever give up on them I have never had one that died.
I had one I just about killed letting it have 50 plus babies hanging on at one time and stressed out. I took them all of potted most in their own pots. But Mom was so tired. She jusy about died . She was a stick sticking up about 3-4 inches in the middle of a six inch hanging pot and no foliage.
So out on the deck I oput her pot, and along Hubby comes and he hung her on a plant hanger in our shade garden. Well yesterday I took her picture super WOW . The six inch pot is full of trailing new healthy foliage and she was blooming !
I'll get help to downlaod the pictures later :))
I'm going to try the humitiy thing,
Glad your made it Allison.
Humidty is good. Take oput of pot also Jan and see if it is too wet or dry deep in the middle .
One it's just one of them I seem to have an endless suplie had 6 stolons potted up the other day for me !
The one I put outside I never expected to live but Hubby likes to take my throw aways and either plant them in the garden or hang them. When I saw it the other day in bloom and full of healthy foliage I was like WOW. I have had this happen to other Epsicas and Av's I've dumped outside and he saves !
