Wow that is quick, what magic did you weave?

Wow! It took my leaves foreveeer to get ears. The last one is just now getting one and I won these leaves at the beginning of summer! Awesome job!

Well,it's only a few and they are tiny. I strike my leaves in straight vermucilite. Once the leaves get some size,I start giving them a very weak solution of 20-20-20 Peter's fertilizer every other watering.

My grandfather swore by Peter's 20-20-20!

I've used Peter's for years. Use to be able find Peter's African Violet Fert.too but I seldom see it any more unless I drive all the way over to next town.

Morning Bigred!

Well I know sellers that use Plant Prod 20-20-20 exclusively and have no problems whatsoever. Because we are repotting so often there is no worry about Urea!

Peter's was bought out by a company called Grace-Sierra Horticulture Products Co.,. Milpitas, CA and they changed the formula but apparently they are slowly going back. We discussed this at our meeting on Wednesday. They put Urea in the product because it was cheaper to produce the fertilizer and that brought their profit margins way up. But consumers have complained and they said at the meeting...that they are slowly going back to the original formula....there is your bit of trivia for the day.

What about years ago before all these so called intellectuals discovered there was Urea in any fertilizers.

I think sometimes a little information can be dangerous or I guess lack of it could be too....LOL!

Myself I like to vary my fertilizers...just like my shampoo!!! LOL!!!

Anyhow they are both very good fertilizers.

Peter's has wonderful food. And the type of food you are using is perfect for rooting leaves, growing babies. Optimara has a food like this i've used often with good luck for babies ! Rob reccomends feeding from the begining too.
