Does any one have any torenia - wishbone plant seeds?

Cincinnati, OH

I have been looking for this plant since this past spring and would love to try it out.

Byron, GA

Will go and check for seed pods Friday a.m. Here in GA, it did not grow well in the summer, but reseeded readily in August. Now I have pots full of seedlings. This has been the first year that I've grown it and it seems to do better in cooler weather. You're welcome to the seeds if I can find any.

Thanks so much!! I'll keep my fingers crossed, eyes and toes, too.

Friday was a stormy day and I didn't check my plants, but today I found several pods. I need to let them mature a bit and dry out before I send them to you. PM me your addy and I'll ship asap. Found two pots that had dozens of little seedlings in them. The seeds are very small and apparently need light to germinate. Hope you are successful.

Digs, did you get 7-8" out of that band of rain? That's what it dumped on me! And that is after the 20" I got last wk! Can we spell 'SWIMMING'? lol BF said he is going to strap my 6 raised beds together so they won't float away & we are going to call them an ark!
Traffic out of Hou coming north has been unreal! After it dumped the 7" Thurs evening, it took me 2 & half hrs to get to work yesterday morning!

No, hon. I'm happy to say that we were blessed with a good rain. We might have gotten 2 inches, not the deluge you guys have been getting. By the time that weather system got to middle GA, it was "tamed". If we had gotten that kind of rain, we would be having major flooding problems, too. Hope it dries out for you soon.

KayKay, it sounds like Digs has you covered... but if those seed pods get washed away, LMK. I've got some from last year that should still be good -- blue, pink, maybe a few purple too. I suspect the early frost might have done in the seed pods on my plants this year, although I need to check on that!

Critter, are the purple the giant purple? If you have any of that seed, I'd be interested in a trade.

Beaker, I don't think there's anything "giant" about them. They're the same as these, only with purple rather than blue or pink... sorry I didn't get a photo of them. I've got a relatively small amount of seeds for the purple, unless the plants outside do have some mature seeds on them (assuming there are any remnants to tell me which are the purple ones... I planted about half purple, half blue or pink under my garden bench this year). All three colors came from Burpee's 'Happy Faces' mix, and they seem to come fairly true to color from seed, at least 5 out of 6 in each cell pack bloomed as expected... they are such teeny seeds that I suspect any "untrue" colors were just my error when de-chaffing them or when sowing them (separate rows but same seed tray).

Beaker & Kay... Since you're in the WS swap with me, LMK if you want me to tuck a few Torenia seeds (separate color or a mix) in with your name/number on the packet. Alice has said she doesn't mind dealing with a few clearly labeled extra packs for the swap, and that would be an easy way to get them to you...

Critter, That would be great! I would love a mix.

Jil, If you don't mind, I would love a few of those too :^) if you have enough. Connie

Do you have any Red Rocket crepe myrtle? I got some in the mail today and got a few extra, if you'd like some.

OK, I'll add a pinch of Torenia for Kay (#4) and Connie (#12) in the WS swap. :-)

These are really teeeeny seeds, which is why they are often pelleted when packaged commercially. I grew them out from these seeds last year, and they did just fine, but they do need a good 10-12 week head start inside, preferably under lights.

Hi Critter, I wouldn't mind having some of your Torenia if you have any left.
