While cutting my brug today, a squirt of juice got in my left eye and 30 minutes later it gets blurry. Later tonight my eye was dialated!!! After did some research I found that brug juice contains atropine - like the alkaloid Drs. uses to dialate you eyes. I sure hope that's the end of this little incident.

I've had that too! It lasted several days (of looking quite strange!) but no damage!
A few people have reported the same effect though it always subsided within 24 hours as I recall. A few have gone to the doctor but I think you just need to wait for the effect to wear off. As far as I know there are no lasting side effects or at least no one has complained of any on here.
I have gotten myself a few times too, once I may have had mild dilation but the other times no problem. The worst was when some went into my mouth, that will teach me to keep it hanging open! I went nuts to get to water to wash my mouth out. LOL. Nothing happened.

I have tried this too. Its not dangerous. I wear glasses most of the time, but anyhow I managed to rub both my eye with my finger, when I was out taking cuttings. Sometimes I am just so lucky. Needless to say I gave up reading the newspaper that afternoon LOL However, the dilation was gone after a good nights sleep and the eye was okay the day after and I was able to enjoy yesterdays news.

Yeah.. there was a show on channel 29 something about miracles.. where some lady got deathly sick from brugs and her dog saved her or some wild thing... Now all the neighbors are so freaked out that I have so many brugs..
So yesterday I'm snapping shredded leaves from my tallest brug.. and one squirts.. I really laughed cause I ducked so fast it would make YOUR head spin! LOL
