Here is another one I don't know the name of. I am collecting lots of seeds from this. The picture sort of faded out the color, it is a bright yellow.
Thanks, Kim
another plant ID
It looks like a Abelmoschus manihot. Yellow hardy Hibiscus

Hmmm...flower does look similar but the flowers I am finding online are a lighter yellow than this. Mine is a bright yellow. Also, this grows low to the ground, and the leaves are broad. I will try to get a pic of the foliage today.
Thanks, Kim
Mellow yellow hibiscus, Hibiscus calyphyllus? Are you saving me some of your seeds, please, please?

Look at this one.
Smockette hit it right on the money. That's exactly it, Hibiscus calyphyllus. I can bring you some seeds to the roundup...I have collected quite a few from this plant and probably have some more seed pods out there yet. Thanks so much for the ID!
:) Kim
When I first saw your pix, I thought 'we grow that'. It is not your regular yellow hibiscus, I have 2 of them on my deck. It is smaller, blooms more, has irregular petals, & that center is the dead give away!
Can I bring you something to CSRU? Texas Star seeds, just picked some fresh, right outside my office her on the Farm?
Thanks Smockette....do you have any of the white TX star? I have the red and have been picking seeds from it, even got a few seedlings going.
:) Kim
Okay, Kim. You are on my list for White Texas Star, freshly picked today. I will add these seeds to your cuttings of Desert Trumpet. Kewl!
Getting excited!!!
:~)
Thanks so much! Have I got anything down for you in return for the desert trumpet? I updated my trade list on the CSRU trade thread yesterday....perhaps there is something else you might want.
:) Kim
No, I was just bringing you the cuttings. But where did you find the trade list for CSRU?
Here's the link to the CSRU trade list: http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/657998/
