I was turning some hoyas in the greenhouse today and this is what I found when I turned H. Polystachya! I didn't measure but it's longer than my hand.

Beautiful leaves ladies. My biggest ones are also on the one that is aka 'Loyceandrewsiana'. I do however have some fairly good sized ones on vitalina and cinnimomifloia.
Good grief, Carol...that one looks like a watermellon. Ha Ha.

Wowsers.....nice leaves Awanda and Carol. It wouldn't take many of those babies to fill up a greenhouse in a hurry but they sure look gorgeous.

That aff. latifolia is awesome!

Carol.
I am amazed by the size and beauty of your hoyas. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Wow, really pretty and huge leafs. I know Awanda has been feeding hers fairy dust, what are you feeding yours Carol? Geese I would have to get rid of all my other hoya's just to accomodate the 3 posted. They are really huge.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Hate to admit it...but the ones outdoors get ignored and I feed them when I remember...which isn't often. They do have Nutricote in them....so I guess that is feeding them. I think that 'outdoors' is the key....

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Yep I was surprised when I saw the size of that leaf! I had a friend from Denver visit last night and she was just amazed at all of the plants and how green everything was. She had the idea that Arizona was all desert and cactus:-) When she opened the greenhouse the humdity was high and she was so surprised. Living in the hot hot part of Arizona I have to put forth extra effort to grow most of my plants, but they make it all worth while!!

Blessings,
Awanda

I might add she was also surprised to see plumeria, brugs, and a banana tree!!

Carol, I couldn't find polystacha (sp) on your list. Is it disguised under a different name?

Susan

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

I found more large leaves on two of my hoyas. Here is a leaf from cv. Joy. This hoya actually has a lot of leaves this size.

Whoooweeeee, I think Karen's got hers on the same regimine as Carol and Awanda.
Ann

Why is she selling out her whole collection?

:-) Did I scare everyone away?

Susan

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

It does feel that way sometimes, doesn't it???? LOL. Janice and her husband have decided upon a new adventure in their life and are getting rid of lots of the 'stuff' in their lives they feel may hold them back. She is really positive about it!!! Carol

Well, if you stop and think about it, it's almost like having small kids around all the time. I did win a merrili from her and from her email it sounded like it was her only merrili and I wondered what was going on. Thanks.

Well, gosh! I'm a bit late eh?! I came over after I got an email from Carol telling me that Susan had asked about selling my collection, and after being sidetracked a bit, 4 kids in school, harvest parties out my ears, then our church's Halloween Stomp party...hectic! So, a bit late to answer the question...

Thank you Carol for answering so elegantly! I appreciate you very much!

Ok, the selling of the plants... it's a very long story, but here is the short version that has to do with just the plants; My husband and I believe that God is calling us out and preparing us for some awesome things...He is teaching me to listen to His voice and obey what He wants me to do...I felt the need or want to give some money to various mission work locally and world-wide, but due to job situations, I didn't have anything to give. I knew that He wanted me to sell the plants to get the money to give, but that was a hard one for me, like the death of a dream, I didn't want to listen or do that, but when I decided that it was the right thing, I cannot tell you the huge wave of excitement that filled me! So far, I've made a little over $700 on the hoyas, and I am so excited to give it away that I can;t contain myself! So, thank you to those that have bid (and won!!) you are helping to give food, clothing, electric to needy families, as well as helping me do what I am supposed to do!
Blessings to you!
Janice

On that note...Thanks Janice...my check is in the mail by the way!

Are you going to be advertising more? I'll probably get reprimanded for saying this on this forum but would you happen to have more of the Acuta?

Susan
