silly question maybe?

ok..how come I have little spiny cactus looking things growing from the tip of all the leaves?

Is your plant pot bound? Mine were left in the same pot too long and they resembled cactus more than epi's. As soon as I potted them up one size, they started looking like they should.

probably is..thank you...will the little cactus looking things turn out right or should I take them off?

I would leave them, might just be your new section of stem trying to grow on out.
As soon as you repot, you should be able to see what it's going to do.
Just move it up one pot size to reduce the chance of overwatering with
winter approaching. If you use potting soil rather than a mix, you might want to
wait till spring to repot. Just my humble opinion

hi,
what would you recommend for a good mix to pot it in? Some of the leaves have 5 or 6 of these little cactus like things starting..will it look funny if they all grow out? Thank you for your help.

I like Fertilome
potting mix but it now has a wetting agent added which defeats my purpose of
using a soil-less mix in the 1st place. I purchased Miracle-Grow potting MIX . I had to look hard to find a M G product w/o the wetting agent. It only came
in a 10 dry qt bag. If your plant is healthy, I wouldn't worry about what is growing on the
tips until you re-pot and they grow out some. Then you should be able to tell
what they are. If they turn out to be new stems, no I don't think it will look funny.
Miracle Grow available at Wal-Mart, Lowes and other gardening centers.
Be sure and purchase the mix and not the soil.
