question about planting now

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

Hello!

Since this was my first full growing season in TX, I now have some questions regarding some plants I have received. I would like to know whether the following should be planted now or whether they should be kept in my greenhouse and planted in the spring. The greenhouse stays at or above 40F.

foxglove
various herbs (lime basil, thyme, and some others)
sweet autumn clematis
calliandra 'powder puff'
cardamom ginger
hardy jasmine
asclepias-common milkweed
elephant ears (in a pot right now)

I also am wondering about 2 passiflora vines I have in the ground right now. I know they are not hardy here, and therefore am wondering when I should dig them up and bring them in. Is it ok to let the vines frost back and then dig or should I dig before we get a frost?

Thanks for all your help!

Kim,
I always wait to plant my Fall trades in the Spring. The roots might not take hold good before a freeze if you plant now. Thats just what I worry about. Someone else my know better though.

Sounds good to me. I put a couple things in last week but I think they will be ok. The rest I may just pile into the greenhouse then. Thanks Tami!

Your 'Powder Puff' that I call a 'Fairy Duster', whatever we call it, is a Calliandra! I will bring mine in the house since my GH is not up yet. I have had these for 6+ yrs & all are still alive. In fact, 2 biggest were in FULL bloom this evening!!!
I have EE in 5g pots around a new 'pond' & would like to know about them prior to the GH being 'raised'.
