The following photos were taken just before I trimmed and winterized so the colors are in some instances not the deep color they would have matured to. For my first season with brugs., and a devasting season at that with the bugs and extreme heat, I'm happy to see any color! Doesn't take much for a newbie to be happy. Lol
Pink Perfektion
Tussee
Time to nestle in for a long winter's nap
We call this one our survivor - in the process of moving brugs around for trimming, etc., this little gal was placed behind construction material, completely overlooked, and was left out in 34 degree weather. I found her with this poor little bloom when I went to clean up all my messy ways, but the cold did not stop the wonderful color from forming. She's now in the gh.
Dream Angel
Tussee
I wished that I had paid attention to where you lived. I went to Michigan City a few weeks ago. I would have loved to have seen these. Especially poor little Dream Angel. She sure is a fighter that is for sure!
You sure have some great brugs there Miss Tusseemussee. All are looking particularly GREAT!! Next year we are going to have a much much better year!! BUGFREE!!
Yes, you sure do have some beautiful brugs.
Beautiful Tussee. Don't you just hate cutting them back for the winter. Creamsickle is a great plant. Maya has been my favorite for scent and foilage until I stumble on Golden Lady.
Dott
Dott, it was very difficult to cut my plants backs and put the beautiful flowers in the trash. I worked over these plants for an entire season and saw but a few flowers due to bugs and weather. When the flowers finally came, I had but a couple of days to enjoy. Never have I had a mite problem in the garden, so I was not equipped to deal with them. Several people on the forum touted Neem as the chemical to use, but after it was almost too late, I realized it was not working for me. I'm now prepared with more chemicals than I care to think about for next year, so I should have control over the pests. When you are very serious about your garden, you do what you have to do. I recall the beautiful brug. plant and flower pictures you shared with us, so I'm looking forward to some of that enjoyment next year.
Tussee
Sorry to hear that Tussee. Mites can be devastating. I fortunately was prepared this year and I won the battle before it could start. Now watering issues was my problem. I'm glad you atleast got to see some flowers before the season was over. Hopefully next year will be better.
Thank you everyone for the compliments. Kin, like a good gardener, I am now looking forward to next year, and hopefully will see some of the beautiful brug. blooms you enjoy every year. Your pictures are always so good.
Tussee
tussy you did great, since I am in the same area I know what it was like to cut down lovely blooms just when you were enjoying them the most, guess we will have to look forward to next year.
Beautiful, Tussee!! I'm in envy withdrawal..lol! I luv the pinks!!

Tussee,
Your Pink Perfektion is gorgeous! You should post it in Plant Files.
