Oregon Swallowtail (Papilio machaon subsp. oregonius)
Wow, you caught this Swallowtail beautifully bonitin. They are SO difficult to photograph, with all the wing trembling and flitting around!
Thank you Philomel! I think I was lucky, I remember it was a very hot day that time..
I've just noticed and am a little confused: this photo has shown up here under subsp oregonius, but I found it under plain P machaon, where it should be. Weird.
Yes, I saw that too Philomel and now it's gone. Weird indeed!
It's done it again for me.........
