We have a tree (inherited from previous owners) we have never been able to ID.... I think it is a Quince. Can anyone give me some identifiers to help me pin it down?

Most of the quince I have seen have camauflage looking bark with thorns,Here is a a picture of the bark on a seedling from a pineapple quince

my antique pineapple quince has no thorns ...came from the middle east turn of the century....great for jams / jellies/ bonsai, etc.....mark
