Buckeye's Daydreamer?
Does anyone have
I do have 'Buckeye Cherry Topping', which is somewhat similar...
Buckeye Cherry Topping (8743) 07/27/1998 (P. Hancock) Single-semidouble bright pink sticktite pansy/cherry frilled edge. Variegated black-green, cream and pink, plain, glossy/red back. Large
Hi Nan,
Sorry I don't have it either...but it sure is a pretty thing!
Joanne
I have Buckeye Cherry Freckles and I love the blooms and the leaves. I am trying to decide what leaves to get in the spring and this was one plant I thought I would like to grow.
No but I have Buckeye Calico, starter plants if you want one.
I would love one. Do you think it is too cold here to send it now? We've had a couple of mornings of frost this week.
I had a couple don't know who got them. I think VG has them ? I think it will still make it safe for you Nanna !
Oh she is sooo very pretty !
What a gorgeous plant, Nanna. Ü
Don
Thanks Don. She has droppy leaves but I think that's the way they are supposed to be.
I think you're right about the leaves... 'Buckeye Bellringer' always seems to grow that way for me.
That is good to hear, Jill.
The large growing ones one leaf can get a big as your hand , leaf rings help the leaves to grow uniform, air circulation get between the rows of new foliage. I had put them on two large plants that grew 24 inches and they made the world of difference in growth, looks, more flowers !
Nanna I will happily send you a Buckeye Calico, am sure it will be ok, will send it on Monday and it will go out 2 day priority. Woo hoo, finally have something that one of you old timers (and I don't mean age) want!!!!!!!!!!! LOL.
April
Yeah :))
April, I am so excited. That you so much. I have the support rings from Violet Barn. I will give it a try. I will ease into the supports so I don't snap off the outer layer of leaves. This is still a your plant -- not even a year old. I would like to keep all the leaves right now. I would love a "24 incher". I've seen pictures of the winners in shows.
I have seen single plant lights. Anyone have one or used one?
Nanna I used different size rings and gently put them on from the bottom.
I am so excited the friend from local Av group well one of them that came to our home bought a lot f plants.
She bought my large Russian Snow Leopard
EK-Snezhnyi Bars (9581) 01/17/2006 (E. Korshunova) Single-semidouble white large frilled star/lilac eye, violet edge. Medium green, pointed. Standard
and
Guelph's Christmas (9120) 04/20/2002 (J. Brownlie/Guelph University) Semidouble-double fuchsia large frilled star/thin white-green edge. Medium green, quilted, glossy, wavy, serrated/red back. Large
Both I grew from leaf and each around 24 " !! I posted pictures of them way back when. They were still fairly young plants.
Well when I was selling everything these were two of the plants she bought from me for $25.00 each. I had rings on both.
Well reason I'm so excited she said their doing really great and she is going to show them in Spring 2007 :))
Gave my morning a smile knowing all her plants were doing good :))
Allison how wonderful that she is going to show your plants! It will be as if you were showing them yourself, only she is having to do all of the detail work! I hope they do well- DON'T FORGET TO KEEP US INFORMED OF THEIR PROGRESS!!!
Nanna my Buckeye Calico is a starter plant- not ready for rings yet, sorry it's still in a cup! I bought to leaves and these guys sent up baby leaves really fast! It was amazing. I gave one to my daughter then my grandson wanted one of his own- I have several, will pick the biggest and send it to you. Hope you won't be too disappointed!
April
April, not to worry -- I think plantlets ship much better than bigger plants and adapt better too. Rob's doesn't send out mature plants of their standards for just that reason. Under Nanna's care, your little plantlet will become huge in no time!
Of that I am sure!
Thanks April I am excited and honored sense I grew them by leaf. I have two Russiand babies I grew from leaf from plants I sent out she wanted and she is bringing me cuttings of Yellow blooming Christmas Cactus ! And I gave her a tiny Stinker sucker with true variegation and she said it's done filled up the pot and I can take a plant out ! The one sucker I have has no variegation :(( And big 4 inch Mom went to Canada dumpster :(( though I'd like to think maybe someone there kept them :))
I'm excited I have a chance of getting one of her babies !
I will love the plantlet. I agfree with Jill the plantlets adapt to environmental change much better the bigger plants. It will be more like growing it myself. I am thrilled.
I sent my address by Dmail.
